Escape by prayer to the land above where Christ is seated as our mediator at the right hand of the Father's throne.  I Thes. 5: 17. "Pray without ceasing."

Continue in Prayer: There are several ways that the scripture encourages us to be steadfast in prayer. Our prayers are not often persistent enough. Knock, pray... call on Me the Lord invites us in His Word. When Peter was in prison, a delightful story in the book of Acts, it says that the believer-disciples were continuing in prayer. They got the answer and found it to be so when Peter was standing at the door where they were gathered for prayer. It is not our prayers that matter, it is our God on the other end of the line that has power to act and accomplish when we pray.. Pray steadfastly! Continue in prayer. It is a necessity for all disciples in hostile territory! Be devoted to prayer, Col. 4:2.

Prayer is not an effort to get God on our side... it begins with humans being on His side! When an answer comes thank the Giver! He gets the credit.

"Before they call I will answer and while they are yet speaking I will hear." Isa. 65:24: Prayer will keep any disciple in good standing on earth with God in Heaven!

The Apostles were so taken up with the prayer life of the Lord Jesus that they came to Him one day and asked, "Lord teach us to pray." The request remains interesting to sincere believers today. The request wasn't, Lord teach us how to pray, but Lord teach us to pray... This is the place where we most often fail. We just fail to pray and what would cause this? Daniel prayed and look how God communicated with him regarding the important issues of his day. Do we feel that we can handle life by ourselves? Lord... “Teach us to pray...” Luke 11:1

Never do what at the moment appears to be displeasing to God

Seek some opportunity to make sacrifice for the good of others, provided it is not inconsistent with some duty for the Lord

Endeavor to rejoice in loss or suffering for Christ's sake remembering that, though they are not to be willfully incurred, yet, like death, they may be of great gain.

Andrew Murray; Man of Prayer

  • Prayer must be definite and Satan's resistance becomes powerless.
  • Prayer must be persistent because Satan persistently defends his kingdom
  • Prayer must be patient in thought, practice and faith
  • Prayer must be in accordance with God's will and His Word
  • Prayer must be in the Spirit because there is often spiritual conflict
  • Prayers of intercession are for others
  • Prayers of petition are urgent matters laid at the foot of the throne of God
  • Prayers of thanksgiving should be always made to our God... He is worthy!
  • Prayer must be made in the name of Jesus... He is our Mediator

"So much depends upon the prayers of the saints. Let each one consider himself a prop to the work (of the Lord) in his prayer life." Andrew Murray

Known as the apostle of abiding Love... Read With Christ in the School of Prayer by this author. He died in 1917.

Andrew Murray said, "Prayer is the strategical point which Satan watches. If he can succeed in causing us to neglect prayer, he has won, for when communion between God and His people is broken, the true source of LIFE and POWER is hindered!

Prayer is sharing your thoughts, your innermost feelings and desires with God. It is quiet waiting to hear His answer. Prayer is not artful monologue, uplifting the voice from the sod. It is love's tender dialogue between the soul and God. Ella May Miller

How lovely are the faces of women who walk with God. Lit with an inner sureness of the path their feet have trod.

How gentle is the manner of the one who walks with Him. No strength can overcome her and no cloud her courage dim.

Keen are the hands and feet, Ah, yes of those who wait His will, and clear as crystal mirrors are the hearts his love can fill.

Some lives are dreary from doubt and fear, while others merely plod. But lovely faces mark women who walk and talk with God.    Ella May Miller...

Isabel Fiddler: “Make me a Women who walks with God,” She did! She spent her time every morning in her elderly years at prayer. Her friends knew that she should not be called. When she died at 80 she books of prayer items that she prayed for daily. She prayed for her family and this Aunt prayed for me! I still thank the Lord today for Aunt Isabel.

Prayer with God is power with God: Prayer is the weapon we can use successfully in faith against the wrongs in ourselves, in our home, in our community and in the nation... Prayer is communication with God and is real communication with the Almighty!  Billy Graham

Prayer will make a man cease from sin, or sin will entice a man to cease from prayer. Pray often, because prayer is a shield to the soul, a sacrifice to God, and a scourge to Satan. John Bunyan

God's ways are not like human ways, He wears such strange disguises, He tries us with His long delays, And then our faith surprises. While we with unbelief deplore, And wonder at His staying, He stands already at the door, To interrupt our praying." Author Unknown...

I believe God answers prayer, Answers always, everywhere; I may cast my anxious care, Burdens I could never bear, On the God who hears my prayer. Never need my soul despair, Since He bids me boldly dare, To the secret place repair, There to prove He answers prayer." Author Unknown...

Dear Lord: "Make me a winner of souls, Show me just where to begin, I know the Lord never can make use of me, until I am cleansed from my sin." Anonymous
