Put your life in the hands of the Man of Galilee, The God of Creation, The Savior of Calvary, the Son of God, The Son of Man, etc. Escape!

This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples. 'As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father's commands and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends...” John 15:8-13 NIV

Area that the Jordan River leaves Galilee, south Galilee

The name Galilee refers to the northern region of Israel as well as the lake. A large part of Christ’s ministry was in Galilee. Nazareth the town that Jesus was raised in is not far from the lake. Cana the place of Christ’s first miracle is close by. Where He fed the five thousand is right there on this lake. He cast out demons on its east shore. In fact some 18 of Christ’s 33 miracles were probably done very close to or on this lake. Peter and his brothers and friends fished here. A most beautiful spot to visit. One can see the Golan Heights to the east from the lake. Its geographical position is 680 feet below sea level. During the future literal Kingdom of Christ on earth, this may be part of the great inland water port in Israel mentioned in Zechariah 14. This lake is some 60 miles north of Jerusalem, Jesus and his disciples often walked to Jerusalem from Galilee, either down the Jordan River or across the high lands. It had several names given in the Bible, Sea of Chinnereth, Lake of Gennesareth, and Sea of Tiberias. The town of Tiberias is the only remaining town from Jesus’ day, a Roman community on the west side of the lake. Here Jeanne and I were in awe of its beauty and spiritual meaning in 1978.

The Sea of Galilee is in the center of this map

Jesus called his first disciples on this body of water, Galilee. They were Simon Peter, Andrew, James and John. Each one escaped a life with no significant meaning and followed Jesus the Christ. They are heroes of the cross of Christ still today. Mark 1:16-18
