There is no disciple that begins without the Spirit’s call. God has work to do to refine each one that we might be useful in His service. Second the disciples had a positive response to Christ as they followed Him. There was obedience on the part of each individual that blended together with the work of the Spirit to cause each one among the 12 to be as the Lord wanted them. One was a phony, Judas Iscariot, only time will tell the difference between the true and false disciple. As Jesus said, “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven; but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven.” Mt. 7:21. |
